Re-Decorating

DSC_3876

Ever since I re-painted my whole apartment about two years ago I've been wishing I had chosen a lighter paint. Back then I was a bit scared of choosing white as I thought it would make the rooms feel a bit cold so I went with magnolia, but as I've honed in on my personal interior style I've been drawn heavily towards white spaces and my desire to live in one has increased.

So here we are again, painting the apartment to create a space better suited to us. The two rooms we've completed so far have been totally transformed. Last time I painted the whole apartment in one go, but this time I'm taking things a bit slower, doing it room by room and taking breaks in between. I'm listening to my body because painting is an utterly exhausting process and really takes it's toll on me.

I hope to share some of our brighter and de-cluttered spaces with you soon and perhaps try to dig up some pictures to compare it to.  But for now you can see some pictures of a much smaller Orlaith helping me decorate two years ago HERE, HERE and HERE.

  2. I am right there with you with the white spaces. I moved into my apartment 3 years ago and immediately painted every room a different color. Bright orange ,mint green and gray.

These days I am longing for an all white space with with tons of plants and light. Can't wait to see how your place turns out!

    1. When I first moved in I was going to do a bunch of statement walls and I'm so glad I didn't now ! I'm still considering one but I've got to choose the perfect place and colour for it.

  3. I wish so hard I could paint all the walls in my home because I HATE them! But we are moving in the next year or two so there's no point, I guess. I do plan on painting light cheery walls in the place we move to the first damn day I get the keys haha. Good luck with your re-decorating!

    1. Definitely no point in painting them now so close to moving. Can't wait to see loads of pics from the Keys when you move, I was there over the summer. So beautiful

  4. This is really a very sweet photo and I can imagine you'll be looking back on this and 'ahhing' when it's all done! Painting is definitely hard work and I can only imagine how exhausting it must be to do multiple rooms! Also, in answer to your question, the copper metallic dish (used to display the YSL lipstick) on my blog is by H&M Home and is available to purchase online :)

  7. I like airy, clear spaces too. We're re-decorating our new house currently and it's so refreshing when you can completely transform a room with a new colour!
