Hi, my name is Alex and this blog is about my life, living and raising my daughter in London and trying to follow my heart in terms of exploring this amazing planet we live on,  living a simple creative life and caring for the environment by being as clean and green as possible.

I love photography and try to bring out the beauty in every frame I capture so my blog is very image based. I always write honestly and like to focus on the positive things in life.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does My Froley mean?
While I was pregnant with my daughter I decided not to name her until after I had met her. I didn't discuss my name options with anyone because I saw it as a personal decision I needed to make on my own. I saw a film called 'Children Of Men' where I came across the name Froley. I thought it was such a brilliant name I decided to name my 'bump' Froley, and that's what she was know as before she was born (and what I told people who pressed me for baby names I was going to name her).

What camera and lens do you use?
I use a Nikon J1 camera with a 30-50mm lens. It is a glorified point and click camera and I love it. My other camera is a Canon Powershot SX220 which I use when my Nikon isn't working or I want to carry a smaller camera with me.

Can I buy your art work?
Yes! You can visit my Etsy shop HERE (coming soon), visit my art blog HERE and if you'd like to discuss any private commissions you can email me directly at alexandorlaith@gmail.com

  11. Hi Alex, many thanks your comment on my blog about one of my baby gift sets. It seems we are in the same part of London! Your daughter is so sweet, love the pic of her helping you to paint your living room :)

If you want to meet more local mums, although with your Uni course you may well not have much free time, I run the Grove Park Toddler drop in group on a Tuesday afternoon. It's a really lovely group and we have a large garden for outdoor play - I do usually make a cake so that may not help your healthy eating :)

  12. You can travel the world and live the creative life as a single Mum. I did it with Tamika, we managed to visit 16 countries together by the time she was 16. This was done while I studied and worked part time.

  13. You remind me a little bit of myself, whenever I was a single mother, making my way through college. Oh, how I would have loved doing it in London! Lucky girl! Are you from London, originally?

It looks like you're doing an amazing job. Keep up the good work!
